Navigating the DCC Newsletter
**** LANDING PAGE
When you go to SODCC.ORG, the first page you see is the ‘landing page’. Think of this as a table of contents. The main subject areas of the newsletter are listed here: Editor’s letter, New & Now, Save the Date, Birthday Girls, Where Are They Now?, Atta Girl!, and First & Goal. Periodically, some subjects might be added if there’s content: Alumni Army, etc....
At the top of the page, you see ‘DCC Newsletter’. Wherever you are in the newsletter, if you click on this, it will take you back to the ‘landing page’ or table of contents.
Also at the top is ‘Newsletter archives’. Click on this, and it takes you to our original, early, email version of the newsletter archives. Click on the month you’d like to read, it will download or open directly on your screen. If it downloads, you’ll need to check your downloads folder, find it, and open it there to read it.
At the bottom of the page, you see ‘*Pre- online newsletters can be found by clicking here or going to newsletter archives above.’ Click on ‘here’ and it will take you to the same archive page as above.
‘Go to online archive’ will take you to ‘Blog Archive’. Located here are the online newsletters dating from Q1 to November/December 2011. Here, they are not stored as the whole issue. They are listed by the date (ex. November/ December 2011) and the subject. So to read an entire issue, you would need to click on each individual subject for that date.
Once you’re finished, click on ‘DCC Newsletter’ to take you to the ‘landing page’ of the current issue of the newsletter.
**** SUBJECT PAGE
Say you want to find out who got married or had a baby. Scroll down to ‘First & Goal’ and click on ‘Read more’. This will take you to the subject page. Here you will find all the stories about that subject. Once you’re finished, you can click on ‘DCC Newsletter’ at the top of the page to take you back to the ‘landing page’ or at the bottom of the page, you see ‘previous’ and ‘next’. Click on either of these, and you will go to the story previous to the one you’re reading or the next one to read.
On the ‘subject page’, you also have the option to go to the ‘newsletter archive’ page if you’d like- remember, these are the early days of the newsletter before our online version.
