*** SUSAN KOMEN ‘RACE FOR THE CURE’
On October 15th, several of our DCC sisters participated in the Susan Komen ‘Race for the Cure’! They walked as a group, sporting their alumni jerseys (with some fun pink additions), supporting our alumni sister Leslie Ezelle as Honorary Chairperson of the race and in remembrance of sisters lost and those still fighting the battle....
A big thank you goes out to Michele Taylor Sharp and Michelle Musick Jones for spearheading this endeavor! Congratulations to Ranie Lindeman Young (DCC 1981) in her efforts to reach her goal of raising $1000 for ‘Team Leslie’! Way to go!
Thank you to all the alumni sisters that participated and began another ‘Spirit of DCC’ tradition!

*** ‘SPIRIT OF DCC’ VINTAGE SALE! ***
The vaults of Valley Ranch were swung open on Saturday, September 24th! Alumni and their family and friends, lined up early to take advantage of the first ever DCC Vintage Sale! The first hour looked the ‘Bride run’ at Filene’s basement with alumni snapping up shirts, warmups, bags, and the most coveted, ‘Skater Girl’ outfit! A good day was had by all and we should be well on our way to a nice alumni fund- a big thank you to Sheila Slaughter Richey (DCC 1987, 88), our big spender of the day! At the end of the day, any remaining items were donated to Regina Tucker’s (DCC 1992, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98) dance team in South Oak Cliff.

*** SUSAN KOMEN HALFTIME PERFORMANCE ***
Breast cancer awareness month began for the DCC with the annual ‘Pink’ halftime on Sunday, October 2nd. 10 ‘Spirit of DCC’ sisters helped cancer survivors and supporters unfurl the giant pink ribbons on the field at Cowboys Stadium. In a chance encounter, they even met Nancy Brinker, founder of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, and took a photo with her. What a day!
