July- Alumni Army
There is a new section in the First Meeting books that were distributed to the Training Camp Candidates in June- quotes from their alumni sisters! Thank you to all the alumni who responded with motivational quotes for our hopefuls. I so enjoyed reading them that I wanted to share a few with you....
You must have dedication and discipline- it will be demanded. However, your overwhelming passion and pride to wear the uniform will be your gift to treasure forever.
Cheers,

As a DCC there are many expectations: look your best, dance with passion, and speak with knowledge. But what is not expected is the mark we leave behind that will be remembered forever.

From the early 1970’s, the DCC organization has been in a class by itself. Enjoy, smile, cherish the friendships and represent America’s Team as only a DCC can!

“Training Camp Candidate” should serve as the impetus to prove you are the most talented, beautiful, important addition to the squad, who will wear the uniform with pride as so many talented women before you. You are in the door - prove yourself and be a leader for others on the field and in your community!

When Kelli tells you that once you are a DCC, you are always a DCC--believe it. From this moment on, your actions, choices, and appearance will always carry the moniker--former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Honor it.

Today you start a journey that will last the rest of your life and from this day forward you will always be known as a DCC. This is a tremendous honor and responsibility that few are lucky enough to enjoy and that many desire. Always try to live up to the reputation that precedes you!.

When you don't feel like going to practice remember…you are one in a thousand girls that get to go to practice. When you're sick of signing autographs at an appearance remember…there will be a day when you're just signing checks and school forms. When you don't get picked for the calendar remember…that is not why you wanted to be a DCC, it is for the incredible friendships and memories that you will never again have a chance to make. This is your sorority, you will go on and do great things, perhaps get married to your soul mate, have kids, get a great job, but you will never just get to sit around before a show and play charades with the girls that will shape your life. We are all lucky stars…remember!

Prepare and perform to the best of your ability, with all the intensity you can bring, every time. Going halfway is disrespectful to those that didn't make it, to your teammates, alumni, family and fans; but mostly, it's disrespectful to yourself.

Being a DCC is a moment in time I will take with me throughout my life. Once you are part of this elite group, it remains a part of you. Through all the hard work, accomplishments, and success - you realize there is nothing you can't do in life if you put your mind to it.

I Will never forget this saying from Levita, who made our uniforms, specifically speaking about our shorts:
"Honey, I can take 'em in, but I can't let 'em out!!!"

During my time as a DCC I learned to dance, really dance. I went from being a young girl to a world traveling, responsible and capable college graduate but most of all I learned to live life to the very fullest and expect more from myself and others.
