Many of our sisters have gone on to wonderful careers post DCC. Each month we will feature one of these businesses. You always have a choice- please support a sister!
BUSINESS BIO: J. Hilburn has been bringing Affordable Luxury to Dallas for the past 2 years.
Do you know a man who likes nice clothes, is not a fan of shopping, and would be more than happy to pay less than retail prices? J. Hilburn is in Dallas and branching out to the U.S. to answer all of your apparel needs.
J. Hilburn is a custom luxury men’s clothier based out of Dallas, Texas. The company sources its luxury clothing from Tressitura Monti who, since 1911, is renowned as a premier supplier to luxury brands around the globe. The majority of J. Hilburn fabrics are double twisted Egyptian cotton, considered the finest in the world. J. Hilburn offers three custom shirt labels: Blue at $79, Brown at $99 and black at $149. The J. Hilburn Black label fabrics are comparable to off-the-rack shirts retailing between $295 and $500.
THE PROCESS: How does J. Hilburn offer such high quality products at half the price? They’ve done away with the brick and mortar. The company sells directly to the customer via their personal Style Advisors. The process is this: you, the client, contact the company, you'll receive a personal Style Advisor and she (or he) will meet with you at your home or office, whichever is convenient. They will take over ten measurements, offer you 250 Italian fabrics to choose from and the fun begins: choose your collar type, cuff, pocket selection (or no pocket). Pleats? No pleats? Monogramming? The options are endless. No minimum orders and no lengthy delays. In approximately 3-6 weeks, your Style Advisor will personally deliver your shirt to confirm the fit and Voila!
BUILDING A FUNCTIONAL WARDROBE: Don’t need a custom shirt? How about a cashmere sweater, performance polo, belt, cuff links or semi-custom trousers? J. Hilburn will soon be carrying everything you would find at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom or wherever you currently spend time trying to find parking spots and fighting crowds.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Selling high-quality fashion while making money at the same time has proven to be a winning combination for the company's growth. Despite the tumultuous economy, J. Hilburn recently secured 4 million dollars in venture capital funding from global VC firm Battery Ventures. “High quality custom clothing has traditionally been out of reach for the average consumer,” said Brian O’Malley, Principal at Battery Ventures. “J. Hilburn has an innovative approach and a strong value proposition to a large group of buyers – luxury and convenience at an affordable price. This is especially compelling in the current macroeconomic environment. They are seeing good, early customer uptake, and we’re looking forward to helping them recruit sales advisors, expand geographically and replicate their unique strategy with new products.”
GOT WHAT IT TAKES?: J. Hilburn currently has over 500 partners in around 32 states and is looking for more Style Advisors. "I love working for J. Hilburn. They have great products that are fun to sell, my clients love it, and I get to determine my worth." On average, partners can spend 10-15 hours per week developing their business leaving time for other important aspects of their lives, like family. Training is provided by J. Hilburn so that every sales partner can offer their clients professional and knowledgeable service.
THE END RESULT?: Exceptional prices, unprecedented customer service, and most importantly, a shirt that fits the perfect build…yours.
