May- Atta Girl!
Christina Parker Rosen (DCC ’04-08) and her husband just purchased their first home! Welcome to the money pit! LOL!
Melissa Valdez Fitzgerald (DCC ’94-97, ’00-02) was recently named Cheerleading Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders!
Julie Maniscalco (DCC 1993) cycled 178 miles from Houston to Austin in a two day bike ride to raise money to help find a cure for MS. They took buses out to Houston on Friday, started early on Saturday morning and cycled the first 100 miles. They camped out in La Grange over night and completed the final 78 miles on Sunday. Julie is part of a cycling team comprised of 53 women from Austin called the Tough Cookies. She picked up cycling when she moved to Austin as a way to meet people. But Julie found that she really loved it, and has turned it into a way to support different charities. She’s cycled thousands of miles and raised thousands of dollars for many charities and causes. And the great side effect besides the satisfaction of helping strangers is being able to stay in shape! Way to go!
March 14th was a very special day for me. My DCC life and my post DCC life collided into one. Not only was I a registered runner for the inaugural Rock N Roll Dallas Half Marathon, I assisted in coordinating the DCC performance at the start line! The gals were up on 2 platforms on either side of the corral of runners performing sideline routines until the start. They then moved to underneath the start banner and did a full pre-game routine (kickline and all!) Mind you, this was at 6 am the day after the Pacquiaou fight at Cowboys Stadium! Many of the gals were going on very little sleep, if any, but you never would have known. Their professionalism and determination that morning inspired me as well. With an entire box of Kleenex in my hand (I hate Bradford Pear trees!), I finished the half marathon! Here I am with my prized possession- Lord knows I don’t run for my health, it’s for the hardware! :)

Maya Hayes (DCC ’02-04) founded her new pro team, the Atlanta Braves MILB Affiliate- the Mississippi Braves. The Braves have secured a contract with her company to add a new form of entertainment to the Braves Organization, The MS Braves Diamond Dancers. They began their inaugural season April 8, 2010 in Pearl, MS. Mississippi is also Maya’s hometown as well as current DCC Brittany Evans! This is a big deal for the state of Mississippi. She formed and trained the 2010 MS Braves Diamond Dancers - the first and only Semi-Pro dance team in the state! Below is the trendsetting squad....
